Chapter 1: My Typical Day

Text

My name is Alex, and I am a teenager who goes to school every day. My typical day is quite busy, but I try to enjoy it and find something good in every moment.

I usually wake up at 7 a.m. It is not easy for me to get up early, especially in winter when it is still dark outside. I often feel sleepy and want to stay in bed longer. However, I know that I have to go to school, so I get up, wash my face, and get dressed.

After that, I have breakfast with my family. My mother usually prepares something simple, like eggs, toast, or porridge. I do not always feel very hungry in the morning, but I understand that breakfast is important. While eating, I sometimes check my phone and read messages from my friends.

At 8 a.m., I leave home and go to school. I usually go by bus, and it takes about 20 minutes. On the way, I often listen to music or think about the day ahead. Sometimes I meet my classmates on the bus, and we talk and laugh together.

School starts at 8:30 a.m. We have different subjects every day, such as math, English, history, and science. Some lessons are interesting, while others are a bit boring. My favorite subject is English because I like learning new words and speaking with my classmates. I think it is very useful for the future.

During the breaks, I talk to my friends, eat snacks, or just relax. Breaks are my favorite part of the school day because I can forget about lessons for a short time. However, sometimes we also use this time to finish homework or prepare for the next class.

School usually finishes at 2 or 3 p.m. After school, I feel a bit tired, but my day is not over yet. When I come home, I have lunch and take a short rest. Then I start doing my homework. It usually takes me one or two hours, depending on how much work I have.

In the evening, I try to have some free time. I often watch videos, play games, or go for a walk with my friends. Sometimes I help my parents at home or spend time with my family. We may watch a movie together or just talk about our day.

Before going to bed, I usually check my phone again and prepare my things for the next day. I try to go to bed at around 11 p.m., but it does not always happen. Sometimes I stay up late, especially if I have a lot of homework or if I am watching something interesting.

Even though my typical day may seem ordinary, I believe that every day is important. Small moments, like talking to friends or learning something new, make my life more interesting. I try to stay positive and make the most of my time.

My name is Alex, and I am a high school student. School is a big part of my life, and I spend a lot of time there every day. Sometimes it is interesting and fun, but sometimes it can be stressful and tiring.

My school day usually starts at 8:30 a.m. I arrive a bit earlier to meet my friends and get ready for the first lesson. When the bell rings, everyone goes to their classrooms, and the day begins.

We have different subjects, such as math, English, biology, history, and physical education. Some subjects are easier for me, while others are more difficult. For example, I enjoy English because I like speaking and learning new words. However, math is sometimes challenging, and I need to spend more time on it.

The teachers in my school are quite different. Some of them are строгие, but fair. They expect us to study hard and do all our homework. Others are more friendly and try to make lessons interesting. I think the best teachers are those who can explain things clearly and support students.

In class, we usually listen to the teacher, take notes, and do exercises. Sometimes we work in pairs or groups, which makes the lessons more fun. I like group work because I can share ideas with my classmates and learn from them.

There are also breaks between lessons. During the breaks, we talk, laugh, eat snacks, or use our phones. These short moments help us relax and prepare for the next class.

One of the most difficult parts of school life is exams. Before exams, I often feel nervous because I want to get good grades. I try to study in advance, but sometimes I still worry. When the exams are over, I feel relieved and happy.

Homework is another important part of school life. Teachers give us tasks to practice what we learned in class. It can take a lot of time, especially if we have many subjects in one day. However, I understand that homework helps me improve my knowledge.

Chapter 3: My Favorite Teacher

Text

At school, we meet many teachers, but only a few of them become truly special to us. My favorite teacher is my English teacher, Mrs. Brown. She is not only a good teacher but also a kind and understanding person.

Mrs. Brown has been teaching at our school for many years. She has a lot of experience, and she knows how to make lessons interesting. Her classes are never boring because she always tries to involve every student. She often asks questions, organizes discussions, and gives us fun activities.

One of the things I like most about her is her positive attitude. She always smiles and creates a friendly atmosphere in the classroom. Even when students make mistakes, she does not get angry. Instead, she explains everything again and encourages us to try one more time. This makes me feel more confident when I speak English.

Mrs. Brown also uses different methods of teaching. We do not only read and write, but also watch videos, play games, and sometimes even act out short dialogues. These activities help us remember new words and expressions more easily. I think this is a very effective way to learn a language.

Another reason why I like her is that she treats students with respect. She listens to our opinions and is always ready to help if we have problems. Sometimes we talk about topics that are important to teenagers, such as friendship, stress, or future plans. This makes the lessons more meaningful.

Of course, Mrs. Brown can be strict when it is necessary. She expects us to do our homework and be prepared for the lessons. If someone does not do their work, she will notice it. However, she is always fair and never punishes students without a reason.

I remember one moment when I felt very nervous before a presentation in English. I was afraid of making mistakes and speaking in front of the class. Mrs. Brown noticed this and spoke to me after the lesson. She told me that it was okay to feel nervous and that mistakes are a part of learning. Her words helped me calm down, and my presentation went much better than I expected.

Thanks to Mrs. Brown, I have become more interested in English. I started watching videos, listening to music, and even trying to read simple books in English. I feel that I am improving, and this gives me motivation to continue learning.

In my opinion, a good teacher is not only someone who gives knowledge but also someone who inspires students. Mrs. Brown is exactly this kind of teacher. She supports us, believes in us, and helps us grow.

I feel lucky to have such a teacher, and I think I will remember her for a long time.

Daniel and I have known each other for many years. We met at school when we were younger, and since then, we have become very close. At first, we were just classmates, but over time we started talking more, spending time together, and sharing our thoughts.

One of the reasons why I like Daniel is his personality. He is kind, friendly, and always ready to help. If I have a problem, I know that I can talk to him, and he will listen carefully. He never laughs at me or judges me. Instead, he tries to understand and give advice.

We have many things in common. We both enjoy playing video games, watching movies, and listening to music. After school, we often meet and spend time together. Sometimes we just walk around the city and talk about everything: school, teachers, dreams, and even our fears.

However, we are not exactly the same. Daniel is more confident and outgoing than I am. He finds it easy to talk to new people, while I can be a bit shy. Thanks to him, I have become more open and sociable. He encourages me to try new things and not be afraid.

Of course, like all friends, we sometimes have disagreements. We may argue about small things, such as what movie to watch or what game to play. But we always try to solve our problems quickly. We talk about the situation, apologize if necessary, and move on. I think this is very important in any friendship.

I often go there with my friends. We play football, ride our bikes, or just walk and talk. Sometimes we bring snacks and sit near the lake, watching the ducks swim.

Another reason I like this park is that it is a good place to be alone when I need some quiet time. I sometimes go there with a book or listen to music while sitting on a bench. It helps me think and relax. I can also take photographs of nature, which is one of my hobbies.

The park is not very far from my house. I can walk there in about fifteen minutes. Sometimes I go with my family. We may have a picnic or just enjoy a calm walk together. My parents like the park too because it is safe and clean, and my sister likes feeding the ducks.

Chapter 10: A Day I Felt Proud

Text

Everyone has moments in life when they feel proud of themselves. For me, one of the proudest days was last year during the school science competition. It was a special experience, and I will always remember it.

Our school organizes a science competition every year. Students from different classes prepare projects on different topics. I decided to participate because I like science and wanted to challenge myself. My project was about renewable energy. I spent many days researching, making models, and preparing a presentation. At first, it was difficult because I did not know everything, but I worked hard and learned a lot.

The day of the competition was exciting and a little stressful. I felt nervous because many students were presenting their projects, and the judges were very serious. However, I tried to stay calm and focus on my work. When it was my turn, I explained my project clearly and answered the judges’ questions. I felt proud because I had prepared well and could explain everything confidently.

After all the presentations, the judges announced the winners. I was surprised and happy to hear that my project won second place! I could not believe it at first. I felt proud not only because of the prize but also because of all the effort I had put into the project. My teachers and friends congratulated me, and it felt amazing to receive their support.

That day taught me an important lesson: hard work and preparation can lead to success. I also learned that it is important to believe in yourself, even when something seems difficult or scary. Confidence and persistence are keys to achieving goals.

After the competition, I continued to work on science projects and tried new challenges. Each success, no matter how small, gave me motivation to improve. I realized that feeling proud is not only about winning awards. It is also about learning, growing, and doing your best.

I will never forget that day. It showed me that I can achieve great things if I put my mind to it. Feeling proud of yourself is an amazing experience, and I hope to have many more days like that in the future.

Chapter 11: Dealing with Stress

Text

Stress is something everyone experiences, especially students. School, exams, homework, and responsibilities can sometimes make life feel overwhelming. I have learned that managing stress is important for both mental and physical health.

I usually feel stressed before exams or when I have a lot of homework. At first, I would get very worried and think that I could not handle everything. My mind would feel busy, and I could not focus on studying. I realized that this only made things worse. So, I started looking for ways to deal with stress.

One method that helps me is organizing my time. I make a plan for the day or the week, dividing tasks into small parts. This makes big tasks feel easier and gives me a sense of control. When I complete a small task, I feel more confident and less stressed.

Another important method is taking breaks. I learned that studying for many hours without a rest does not help. I take short breaks to relax, walk, or listen to music. These breaks give my brain time to rest and improve my concentration.

Exercise is also very helpful. Playing sports, going for a walk, or riding my bike helps me release tension and feel better. Physical activity is not only healthy but also a natural way to reduce stress.
